Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will have enhanced their skills in:

  • Using assertive language to clearly get your message across
  • Confidently using body language to handle the situation successfully
  • Having the difficult conversation and reducing the chance of conflict
  • Giving feedback
  • Plus had fun!

Challenging/difficult situations

  • Getting through the blocks to being assertive
  • Using the DENBA Model to give feedback
  • Looking confident and professional even when you don’t feel it!
  • Handling nervousness
  • The courageous conversation-what to say when it’s hard to say it!
  • Listening tips-the key to success
  • Practical exercise

This session is designed to be   interactive and practical

Our guest speaker is Janine Gould - Director, Communicate Consultants 

Janine is a founder and director of Communicate Consultants. She has over thirty years training and coaching experience specialising in verbal communication skills; working with groups ranging from senior management to raw recruits in both the private and public sectors. Janine coaches and facilitates in New Zealand and Internationally

Janine is accredited to the DiSC Behavioural Style Inventory and EBW (Emotional Intelligence at Work); certified in the frameworks of the Conflict Resolution Network of Australia and is a member of The New Zealand Institute of Directors. She is a member of a prominent Leadership Development team.

Janine has a strong commitment to community affairs. She is member of Zonta International and involved in their commitment to enhancing the rights of women globally.

Janine has tested her team building skills by sailing from Wellington to Tonga. In her spare time she enjoys reading, learning the ukulele, travelling and the vibrant arts in NZ.

Please bring a notebook and pen so you can capture any insights for future use.

As usual, we will be starting at 12pm and finishing the workshop section at 1pm when we’ll enjoy networking and a light lunch kindly sponsored by KPMG.
