Volunteer

Donate your time and skills to help people find work and achieve success.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of our organisation, giving their time and sharing their talents to help others succeed in their lives. Volunteering is a meaningful and rewarding experience that has many benefits, including developing new skills and meeting new people.

How can I help?

We always need people to help with the following activities:

  • Clothing management

  • Sales in our recycled clothing boutiques

  • Career coach – experience in careers guidance or recruitment required

  • Mentor - experience in guiding and supporting people required

  • Stylist – full training given

  • Admin support

  • Fundraising event committee

  • Volunteer work experience guide

  • Board member – positions advertised in January.

From time to time we have specific volunteer roles which we need help with. You can view any current roles here:

If you have other skills you’d like to offer or you’d just like to talk to someone about volunteering then please contact us.

If any of the roles appeal then please click the 'Find out more' button to start the process! If you'd like to volunteer to gain work experience head over to our Work Experience page in our Programmes section.

How does it work?

  • Our Hub Coordinator will contact you for an initial chat and if looks like a good match they’ll arrange a time for you to visit your nearest hub.

  • Your first visit is a chance for us to get to know each other. Your coordinator will explain the role(s) you’re interested in more fully and answer your questions. We want to make sure the volunteering relationship works for both of us. Time commitment is particularly important and we need to be realistic about what’s involved and the amount of time you have available.

  • As our volunteers are often working in a position of trust, either with our clients or have financial responsibilities in the shop, the next step is a criminal history report and reference checking.

  • Once everything is complete, we’ll invite you in for an induction session, covering what your role involves, any specific training and health and safety procedures.

  • That’s it - you’re now part of the team!
