We are delighted to congratulate Prachi, one of our Work Experience Volunteers, on her new job. Originally from India, Prachi came to Yes for Success (YFS) wanting to devote herself to a meaningful cause, regain confidence for the workforce, establish meaningful connections and immerse herself in the local work culture.

Through working at our Wellington hub, Prachi gained important skills in Business Support, Retail and Human Resources (HR). She also received an interview styling session to boost her confidence and help make a great impression at interview.

Congratulations again Prachi, we are excited for your future and hope you feel successful and confident every day! Thank you for your work, all the best on your career journey!

How did you hear about YFS?

I came across Yes for Success through the Volunteer Seek website while searching for meaningful volunteer opportunities to gain local experience.

Why did you come to us for assistance?

After a long career break to focus on my family, I wanted to rebuild my confidence, re-enter the workforce, and understand how the work environment functions here in New Zealand.

How did we help you?

YFS helped me in many ways—by introducing me to the local work culture, improving my confidence and giving me the chance to work alongside people from various professional backgrounds, all working together for a meaningful cause.

How did our volunteers make you feel?

The volunteers were incredibly kind, approachable and supportive. They openly shared their experiences and knowledge which made me feel welcomed, valued, and inspired.

Did our programme meet your expectations?

Yes, absolutely. The programme was well-organised, supportive, and gave me exactly the kind of experience and encouragement I was hoping for.

What was the result?

The experience gave me the confidence I needed, and I’m now working in an Office Manager role, which has been a great step forward in my career journey.

How would you define success?

To me, success means growing personally and professionally, achieving your goals step by step, and feeling confident and fulfilled in what you do.

What advice would you give others?

I would like to wish all volunteers the very best. Keep learning, stay confident, and continue putting your heart into your work. Your efforts will lead you to your dream job and help you build a bright future. Never stop believing in yourself.

What next – Have you set any goals?

Yes, my next goal is to move into a finance-related role where I can apply my accounting background and continue to develop my skills in the industry.
