Where did you get that dress?

Ever had somewhere to go and ‘nothing to wear’? If so, you’re not alone. Many of us have those moments. For the Dress for Success client, Rachel, the place to go was a new job, and we were here to help.

Rachel first heard about Dress for Success through her mother. She’d had a very positive experience with our stylist, Jill, and went home with a new wardrobe, which she proudly showed her family. She recommended that Rachel contact us, too. Rachel had just secured a job and needed corporate clothing. For Rachel, it was a breakthrough. ‘The clothes were just what I needed. They all suited my body and my personality, and I could use each item in different ways. Also, it was lovely having other staff jump in with other perspectives. It all gave me the confidence to wear the outfits well.’

Now Rachel’s new colleagues are asking her where she got her clothes.

We asked Rachel what success means to her.

‘It’s different for everyone,’ she told us. ‘I see it as having the necessary tools to pursue whatever your goal is in life without financial barriers or constraints - and being content with the result. Trying to make headway can be frightening, but the only way is through the eye of the hurricane. Just do it. Do it to the best of your ability. And have faith in yourself. No matter what the outcome, you know you tried.’
